Unwritten Law News

October 9, 2003 Hey, I'm back! And guess what? It's that time again...Ganeshfest II will be held on November 8th in the Coors Amphitheatre parking lot (the place where Warped Tour always is). Tickets are $12.50 and they go on sale tomorrow at 10:00 am. Bands playing include UL (duh), Rocket from the Crypt, Hornswaggled, Agent 51 (minus Chris Armes), Death on Wednesday, and Pivit. You can view the complete lineup and read a new newsletter from Wade at the official site. Also, UL has confirmed that they will NOT be playing Australia this year, since they are busy recording a new album for your listening pleasure.

September 5, 2002 Press Release: Steve Morris, the guitarist from Unwritten Law, was injured at home last night as a result of a personal attack. A homemade bomb allegedly planted by his neighbor exploded and caused injury to Morris, a security guard and a local police officer. Morris sustained injuries to his arm and eardrums. As a result, Unwritten Law is canceling their next couple of shows. Morris states, “He planned this for a week and tried to kill me with a bomb. I can’t believe someone would go to these lengths over a domestic dispute about noise levels. I’m sorry we have to cancel shows and disappoint our fans because of this vindictive individual.” The neighbor was arrested and taken into custody. Unwritten Law will resume touring in support of their album, Elva, when Morris recovers from his injuries. Their current single “Up All Night” is # 15 on the Modern Rock Chart and is the follow-up to their # 1 hit song, “Seein’ Red.”

June 20, 2002 Up All Night will be re-released for the next single, according to the street team.

January 29, 2002 Elva comes out TODAY in the U.S. (yeah, I'm a slacker). Rob said on Friday that they were planning to do some headlining shows pretty soon, so that's exciting. I also saw them on Friday; kicked everyone's butt including Sum 41's. I also got Elva today, I think it's great! Oh - I'll try to scan in an article from the San Diego Night & Day thingy some time this week and post it in the Articles section.

September 12, 2001 I hope everyone that reads this (if anyone) is okay. :( The official release date for Elva is November 6th. Here are more East Coast tour dates. Having never been to New York City or Washington D.C., I don't know if the shows there would be cancelled or not, but (obviously) I'll tell you if I find out.

10/29 in Minneapolis, MN at Quest Club
10/30 in Kansas City, MO at Beaumont Club
10/31 in St. Louis, MO at Mississippi Nights

September 10, 2001 Here is "final" track listing for Elva (heh, someone likes Sublime). This hasn't been confirmed by the band and is pretty much unofficial, so I'll post any changes that may occur.

July 9, 2001 Well, as always, the album has been delayed again. Now it's scheduled for release in September. The title of it will be Elva. You can hear three finished tracks (Up All Night, Hell Born, and Mean Girl) at punkbands.com. And congratulations to Rob, who got married on June 23rd!

June 3, 2001 According to ULPunk.Com, they are doing the photo shoot for the new album this week, and they should be finishing up the mixing this week, too. Then they just have to finish the layout and artwork for the CD, and it should be out! I haven't heard about any tour dates recently, but I would assume that they are planning a summer tour. Oh, and I'm sorry about taking down the Spanish version, but it's hard enough just updating the English version. Maybe I'll put it back up over summer.

March 20, 2001 Sorry I haven't updated the site in a while. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Okay, it's March, no album. Rob's mom says May or June now. There are 3 upcoming tour dates:

January 25, 2001 Okay, they're not breaking up. You can all breathe now. Go read this message from Pat Kim for details. And yeah, it is him.

January 15, 2001 I have the WORST news EVER!!!!! Rumors are flying that Wade is quitting Unwritten Law! The first report of it came from Jordan from Strung Out at the Strung Out Message Board:

"Hello people, Just wanted to post up that we just got two new spur of the moment show's for this weekend. Seems we are taking the place of Unwritten Law twice this weekend cause they are having some difficulties we've heard (Wade their drummer quit is what i heard) so we are playing in Mammoth at the Canyon Lake Lodge this Saturday night (1-13-01) and playing in Tahoe at Heavenly Ski Resort on Sunday(1-14-01) During the day. The tahoe show is for SWAT but its a college deal not a high school deal. So for those of you that are gonna venture out and do some snowboarding and see us play we will see ya there ....take care all.. From Jordan n Strung Out"

The worst part is, it could be true! Nothing is sure yet, but apparently, he actually might quit the band. This news comes from Wade's mother at the Unwritten Law Yahoo! Club:

"All I can say about the whole situation is, it hasn't come to a final decision yet, as far as Wade leaving the band. Don't give up. Bonnie"

September 16, 2000 This site now has a Spanish version! I probably get the award for First Spanish UL Site. Sorry it sucks so bad, I'm only a Spanish III student. I also got rid of the No Frames version. Update your browsers, people. :0)

September 12, 2000 The Street Scene show was awesome! Go here to read more about it. Pics from the show should be coming soon, depending on when my friend gets them developed and if they came out.

August 16, 2000 Two more new songs were played at the Glasshouse show, Actress/Model and Evolution. There is some speculation that Evolution is Geronimo with a different name. Also, Unwritten Law will be playing in Australia with Bodyjar.
